Barry is an independent, licensed structural engineer with more than 20 years of professional experience. As a Salida native and local business owner, he specializes in residential architectural and structural design, delivering creative, sustainable, and resilient solutions tailored to each client’s needs. Barry’s career began in the construction industry as a laborer for a local commercial contractor, followed by a civil engineering bachelor's degree and a structural engineering masters degree. Then, for 15 years, Barry was a structural engineer with a global engineering firm. While not a licensed architect, he worked closely with an architect for many years and has a deep passion for architecture and design.

 

Upon returning to Salida, Barry now divides his time between design and hands-on construction. Barry’s active involvement on job sites keeps him current with industry best practices and advances in building science. His integrated approach—melding engineering, architecture, and construction—enables him to provide innovative, efficient, and practical design solutions. This unique blend of skills allows Barry to deliver projects where architectural vision, structural integrity, and constructability are seamlessly interwoven, offering clients a cohesive and highly creative design experience.
